the art of preparing

I’ve been reorganizing my library, and honestly it’s been really fun. Up until now, my books were sorted by the author’s name, in alphabetical order, but now I’ve separated them into a few sections: fiction and non-fiction, for which I have subsections for agriculture, history, modern biographies/autobiographies, science+economics and then a more general section.

The catch is that while sorting through the books about agriculture, I’ve realized that I probably haven’t read 90% of those books. So honorable mention to me for preparing, I guess? It’s great to prepare, to gather the resources about a particular topic, but it’ll never replace the actual doing: reading that book, taking that course, sending that email, starting that social media account. So just do it, or merely do it, as Seth Godin would say.
